IAAF World Athlete of the year

IAAF World Athlete of the year for year 2015 has been announced. Usually the sprinters or long distance runners would grab it. But for the 1st time, A decathlete won the award.

Ashton Eaton from USA became the first decathlete to win the male World Athlete of the Year award after his spectacular performance in Beijing, his only decathlon of the year, when he set a world record of 9045 and improved his own three-year-old mark by nine points.

Genzebe Dibaba from Etophia, after setting a world indoor 5000m record of 14:18.86, was then unbeaten in her five 1500m races during the summer. Firstly, she ran an African record of 3:54.11 in Barcelona, the fastest time in the world for almost 12 years, and then topped that with a stunning world record of 3:50.07 in Monaco to beat a mark that had been on the books since 1993.

Boston qualifying timing

The qualifying time is out for Boston Marathon 2017. From the chart, I can only qualify if I'm at age of 65. That shows the quality of US runners or the contenders itself.

KL Marathon registration is closed

Though I'm posting it late, but something to ponder, how could the event been closed just within a week from the final registration opens.

Of course for foreigners, it's quite cheap which is around USD30 for a marathon, but it has never been selling like hot cake like this year.

1 reason which I felt was the corporate purchase, where the organisor sells a block i.e 100 slots or 200 slots for a a special package. This makes the available slots for public reduces. For organisor it's good for them, as they could focus on other important matters.

Hope this year would not be affected by any disasters like previous years.
